Apple Event September 2015: Everything Apple Unveiled

The Apple Event saw a bevy of announcements, from new iPhones to the much awaited redesigned Apple TV. Apple CEO Tim Cook unveiled these products at the event which included iPads, iPad Keyboard, new Apple TV remote and many more. The event was held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Here is a quick look at the all the products that Apple unveiled at the big event on Wednesday.

  • iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus

Two new iPhones were unveiled by the CEO at the event. A ton of new features have been added to the new phones from Apple. 3D touch is a major feature which will have an impact on how the users are going to interact with their iPhones. The 12MP camera in the new iPhones can shoot 4K video.

A few features which will be there in iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are given below:

  • 64-bit A9 chip
  • 3D Touch
  • 5MP FaceTime HD and Retina Flash
  • 12MP back camera with 4K video recording
  • Wi-Fi support up to 866 mbps, with 300 mbps LTE
  • Extra-quick, new Touch ID

Pre-orders for the devices will start from 12th September and they will launch on 25th September. Pricing of 6S will start at $199 and 6S Plus at $299.

Customers with old iPhones can upgrade to the new iPhones each year for a monthly rate which starts at $32 per month. This will be possible with the new Apple Upgrade Plan.

  • 12MP Camera, Live Photos

The cameras of both the iPhones have improved significantly. They come with 12MP iSight cameras which can shoot 4K videos. Apart from the back cameras, Apple also unveiled a new 5MP HD front-facing camera. It comes with a new feature, try-tone flash. This will let users click selfies even in low light conditions.

Live photos is another feature which has been announced. These are HD 12MP stitched photo bursts with audio.

  • 3D Touch

Apple unveiled the 3D Touch for iPhone which lets devices sense the pressure and provides tactile reaction to the users. The aim of 3D Touch is to save the taps done by users and get them more quickly to the action they want. You will be able to see an email as you tap and hold deeper. With 3D Touch, you will be able to access apps without even opening them.

  • New Apple TV

Apple TV has been unveiled with a brand new design at the event. The box comes with a new OS, app store and a multitouch remote. The focus was on OS and Siri at the event. The company unveiled tvOS which has support from Siri. The new Apple TV will search TV series or shows for you with Siri’s help.

The new Apple TV stresses on casual gaming. At the event, they displayed some games using the TV. You cannot expect that Apple TV can replace gaming consoles in the immediate future. But iOS gaming will definitely be fun with the new remote that has Wiimote-style motion controls. The price for the 32GB version of the TV starts at $149 and will ship in October.

  • New Apple TV Remote

The Siri-powered touch surface remote is another new development which is quite note-worthy. The remote is powered by Bluetooth 4.0 and gives users more control with different types of inputs.

  • The iPad Pro

The ultimate tablet was unveiled at the Apple Event. This is the largest ever tablet made by Apple till date. It has high definition 12.9 inches screen where split, “full screen” multitasking can be done. A couple of new hardware peripherals have also been launched for the iPad Pro.

A few features that you can get in the iPad Pro include:

  • 6.9mm width with 1.57 lbs weight
  • 12.9 inches screen with 2,732 x 2,048 display
  • New powerful A9X chip which is 1.8 times better than its predecessor A8.
  • 8MP iSight camera
  • 10-hour battery life
  • Powerful four speaker audio system
  • Touch ID

Price of the iPad Pro starts at $799 for 32GB model.

  • Apple Pencil

Apple Pencil is the new stylus which has been unveiled for the iPad. The stylus is priced at $99. The stylus comes with ultimate precision. Apple says that it is accurate “to the pixel.”

  • Apple iPad Keyboard

Apple is trying to make the iPad Pro useful for content creation. So, unlike earlier iPads, a new physical keyboard has been introduced for the iPad Pro which can be used to enter texts. The Apple iPad Keyboard is almost similar to the Microsoft Surface keyboard. Not many details were announced at the event. However Apple said that the new keyboard uses new Apple dome switches. It also makes use of the new magnetic connector on the iPad Pro. The price of the keyboard is quite high at $169.

  • iPhone Upgrade Plan

Upgrading to new iPhones every year can now be extremely easy for the users. With this Upgrade Plan, new upgrades will be possible at a monthly payment of $32. It will also include AppleCare+.

  • iPad Mini 4

The iPad Mini 4 was also introduced by Apple at the event. But they hardly explained the details regarding it. The device will be available for $399. The new iPad Mini is more powerful and thinner. It comes with multitasking features and will have the same power as the iPad Air 2.

The Apple Watch was also included in the new developments. Some new gold and rose gold finishes were unveiled for the Apple Watch Sport. Other new designer bands were also unveiled from Hermes along with a range of new apps.

With a host of new products, Apple is definitely spreading its wings in different areas apart from its leading iPhones.
