Samsung had released the Galaxy Tab 8.4 and 10.5 last year and it became really popular due to its Super AMOLED display. Now, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S2 tablets which come with two screen sizes- 8 inch and 9.7 inch. Like Apple, Samsung is also providing its consumers with the option of selecting tablets of any of these two sizes. This will definitely help the consumers. Before the release itself, there was a rumor of its announcement, which has proved to be spot-on. Let us have a look at the specifications of the new installments.

Specifications of Galaxy Tab S2
The Galaxy Tab S2 employs 4:3 aspect ratio with SAMOLED display having a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. They will be available in Wi-Fi and LTE configurations. Features include:
- Exynos 5433 Octa-core SoC
- 3GB of RAM
- 32 or 64GB of internal storage
- 8-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front camera set-up.
- Android 5.0.2
- “Touch-based” fingerprint sensor
- Support for microSD.
The 8-inch version will have a 4,000mAh battery and the 9. 7-inch version will have a 5,870mAh battery. Both devices are 5.6mm in thickness and have an aluminum frame. The rear panel is comprised of soft-plastic. In LTE-configuration, there is an earpiece which can be used for voice calls. However, this feature won’t be available in the US carrier-based models.

Availability and Price
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be available for the consumers in stores next month. It is expected that the LTE variant will release after a few weeks of the release of Wi-Fi variant. There has been no official statement from Samsung about the cost of the device. However, SamMobile has given the European prices, most likely based on the 32GB configuration. Here are the prices:
- Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Wi-Fi: €399 ($432)
- Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Wi-Fi: €499 ($540)
- Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 LTE: €469 ($508)
- Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE: €569 ($616)
Once the Galaxy Tab S2 releases in stores, it is to be seen how it can make a place for itself in the crowded tablet market. It is of interest how people will react to the new tablet from Samsung given the price range.
