Avengers fans have news to rejoice. Samsung is giving its latest product, the Galaxy S6 Edge a makeover with the theme of Iron Man, thanks to its partnership with Marvel. On Friday, the company confirmed in a tweet from the Samsung Electronics account, about the release of an Iron Man version of its Galaxy S6 Edge. Not many details have been found about the release, only that the availability could differ by market.
Earlier, there was a report in Korea Herald that in the coming weeks the Iron Man edition of the Edge would be available to the consumers. The tweet comes in the heels of this report.
We can expect that this version of the smartphone will be available soon as “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” is already entering its third week at the box office. If Samsung waits too long to release this Iron Man version, it could cause a loss in interest among consumers or result in cannibalized sales.
The Korean Times report stated that, a Samsung executive had said earlier that the Iron Man themed phones would be red in color and roll out in the last half of May or in the first half of June.
As per a statement given by a Samsung spokesperson to Mashable, the smartphone will be a limited edition one in selected markets.
Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy S 6 edge Iron Man Limited Edition in selective markets. Detailed availability in markets, release date and retail partners will be disclosed in coming weeks. We always strive to quickly respond to ongoing consumer demand in regard to our products.

This is not the first time when Samsung is promoting with Marvel. There is an ongoing deal of the company which lets users get four free cases with Avengers theme, when they purchase a new Galaxy Note 4. The cases are that of Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America and Thor. However, it is not yet known whether there will be other themed versions of Galaxy S6 Edge apart from the Iron Man one.
Earlier this year, images had surfaced which appear to be design mockups of the entire Avengers line of Galaxy S6 devices. These images give an idea of what these devices could look like.
What do you think about such a phone version? Which Avengers character’s Samsung version would you like to see in the future? We would love to hear your thoughts.
