Don’t Miss – 7 Best Laptops You can Get Under $300
Best Windows Tablet
- Microsoft Surface Pro 3
Pros- The Surface Pro 3 is lighter and thinner than its earlier two versions. It has a higher screen resolution and a large 12-inch display. You can set it up easily with a new kickstand and use it without the least difficulty. The keyboard cover is really amazing. A digital pen is included with the laptop and it is optimized for its use.
Cons- The touchpad is still lacking and the keyboard cover comes for an additional price. The chassis does not have a place to store the pen. The Surface Pro 3 still does not fit on the lap.
Overall, the Surface Pro 3 is more successful as a tablet than a replacement for laptop.
Best Battery Life
- Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2015)
Pros- The 2015 update contains new Intel CPUs, longer battery life, faster memory and Apple’s new Force Touch trackpad compared to the regular 13-inch Macbook Pro.
Cons- The hands-on experience has improved just a bit with the updates brought in 2015, compared to other high-end 13 inch laptops which are continuing to become thinner and lighter.
The 12-inch Macbook is popular but the 13-inch system with its updates is becoming popular for mixing portability and power.
Best 13-Inch Windows Laptop
- Dell XPS 13 Non-touch (2015)
Pros- The updated Dell XPS 13 has an almost borderless display. For a 13-inch laptop, it has a very small body and the latest Intel CPUs. This lower-end configuration has a long battery life.
Cons- Windows 8 is harder to use as the higher-resolution screen is dropped and edge-to-edge glass loses the glossiness of the laptop.
It is not as tightly designed as the earlier versions.

Best Ultraportable Laptop
- Apple MacBook (2015)
Pros- The new Apple MacBook is 12 inch and is light and thin. It is available in three colors. The battery life is better than other laptops with Intel’s Core M processors. You can charge from an external backup battery pack with USB-C port.
Cons- The battery life and performance is lower than the MacBook Pro and Air. For all accessories, you have to share a single port. The new keyboard is also shallow.
If you can manage the limitations, you can get the 12-inch MacBook which will pave the way for the next generation of laptops.
Best Lightweight Laptop
- Lenovo LaVie Z HZ550
Pros- The Lenovo LaVie Z has a robust processor and proper set of ports and connections.
Cons- Battery life of this laptop works just fine but the price is quite high compared to other premium laptops which are sleek in design. The keyboard is also not as good.
The processor power and the light weight make it a laptop worth buying despite its cons.
