Apple has unveiled its Best of 2014 app list, soon after Google came out with its own Best Apps for 2014 list. Apple’s list was launched in iTunes and showed the winners in various categories which included books, TV shows, music, apps and movies. The year-end lists have divided the apps in three categories, paid apps, free apps and top grossing apps apart from the top iPhone App and Game of the Year and top iPad App and Game of the Year.
Let us have a look at the apps which have made its way to the top of the iTunes.
Top iPhone App and Game of the Year
- iPhone App of the Year
Elevate-Brain Training has been named the iPhone App of the Year. It is a brain training app which is designed to better the processing speed, focus, memory, speaking skills, math skills, etc. of the users. The users of the app will be provided with their own personalized training program that will adjust over time to provide the maximum results.
- iPhone Game of the Year
Threes! is the iPhone Game of the Year. It is a puzzle game which will help the players to improve their brain’s functionality. It is optimized for iOS 8 and can be played with iPads as well. Different characters and challenges in a simple game mode make it a game worth playing.
Top iPad App and Game of the Year
- iPad App of the Year
Pixelmator is the iPad App of the Year. It is an image editor with which you will be able to create, edit and improve your images. You can work smoothly between iPad and Mac. With powerful tools, you will be able to improve images, apply stunning effects or build advanced composition without hassle.
- iPad Game of the Year
Monument Valley is the iPad Game of the Year. Users of the app will be able to explore through impossible geometry and architecture. You can guide Ida, the silent princess through mysterious monuments, discovering hidden paths and outwitting the Crow People in the game.
For iPhone, the top paid app was Heads Up!, the top free app was Facebook Messenger and the top grossing app was Clash of Clans.
For iPad, the top paid app went to Minecraft – Pocket Edition, YouTube was adjudged the top free app and Clash of Clans finished as the top grossing app for iPad also.
