In the plethora of smart devices, Astro, a startup has developed a smart light bulb which can also act as an AirPlay speaker. With these smart bulbs, the plan of the company is to remove the need for device that take up space and power outlets. The best thing about these smart bulbs is that it can work for anyone, whether you are in a rented apartment or you have your own home. You just need to have standard light sockets. The smart light bulb is known as Twist and it can turn into a speaker to work with Apple AirPlay.
Twist- A Smart Bulb and a Speaker
Twist works with Apple AirPlay and it lets users send audio files from Apple devices to speakers using Wi-Fi. However, if you want to listen to music, you don’t have to keep the smart lights on.
Shaun Springer, CEO of Astro, said in an email statement to Mashable “Twist was created with renters in mind. It allows consumers to maximize the space in their apartment.”
These are LED bulbs which change color so that it matches with the pattern of the sun. This means, there will be a warm glow in the evening and bluish-white light in the morning. With the color change, your sleep cycles will be maintained and you can wake up and fall asleep without any difficulty.
You can put sound anywhere as it can fill any room with podcasts or music with the wireless AirPlay speaker. The best thing about this smart bulb is that you won’t have to charge it ever. It will typically last 12 to 15 years.
