What is the Lexus Hoverboard?
If you still do not know what the Lexus hoverboard is all about, read on.
Lexus bills the device as the “first real, rideable hoverboard”. It is branded under the name Slide in the website.
The developers described the working procedure of this device saying “Hoverboard uses magnetic levitation to achieve amazing frictionless movement. Liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors and permanent magnets combine to allow Lexus to create the impossible.”
It uses high-powered magnets which are placed on the board’s bottom. They push against any metal surfaces which are below it and hover above the ground. A video released earlier by Lexus showed the hoverboard gliding over a metallic track in a skatepark located in Barcelona.

Far Away from Being A Realistic Consumer Product
Lexus hoverboard is far away from being a realistic consumer product. It needs to overcome more hurdles. The cost of the prototype would have to decline significantly before the average consumers will be able to buy the device. An infrastructure, where metal lanes or parks would have to be developed just for the owners of the Lexus hoverboard to ride anywhere they want. While this might not be a complete impossibility, it might take a while before such skateparks are built.
The New Trailer
In the new trailer launched, which has released on Tuesday, we get a glimpse of the skatepark where the hoverboard filming was done and also see a film crew, a drone with many cameras and other objects which are associated with the filming of a video.
In the last few seconds however, you will see the Lexus hoverboard gliding slowly in the air. This will definitely leave you wanting for more.
So, wait for 5th August to catch the Lexus hoverboard in action.
