A Look Back at Best Tech Innovations in 2014

2014 was a year of major tech innovations. Big names in the industry launched new products in the market each giving a tough competition to the other. Right from launch of new smartwatches to introduction of new operating systems, this year saw a surge in technological developments.

We have brought to you 5 of the major tech innovations that occurred in the last 6 months in this post.

  • Vivo X5 Max

On 10th December, 2014, the world’s slimmest smartphone Vivo X5 Max, was launched by Chinese company Vivo. It is only 4.75mm in thickness and surpasses Oppo R5 and Guinness certified Gionee Elife phones.

  • New Innovations by Apple

Apple had come up with a slew of new innovations in September and October. On 20th October, 2014, Apple Pay, the new mobile payment system was launched. The system will work with another latest innovation iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

On 16th October, 2014, iPad Air 2, the world’s thinnest tablet was unveiled. This tablet has a better camera and a faster processor than the last version.

On 9th September, 2014, Apple entered the wearable market with Apple Watch, the first smartwatch of the company.

On the same day, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were also launched. The iPhone 6 has a display of 4.7 inch and 6 Plus has a display of 5.5 inch with which Apple made its entry in the phablet market.

  • Google Nexus 6 with Android 5.0

On 15th October, 2014, Google unveiled Nexus 6 with the latest version of Android OS, Android 5.0. This is the first Nexus smartphone which has been developed in partnership with Motorola. It has a 6 inches QHD screen with 1440 x 2560 resolution.  It runs on a 2.7GHz quad-core processor with 3GB RAM and has 32 GB storage. Its camera of 13 megapixel has Optical Image Stabilization.

  • Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge

Samsung unveiled the successor to the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Note 4 phablet in the market on 3rd September, 2014. The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was also released on the same day. Both these devices run on Android 4.4 Kitkat. They run on 2.7GHz Quad Core Processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory.

  • Asus ZenWatch

On 3rd September, 2014, Asus ZenWatch was also unveiled. It is the first smartwatch launched by Asus at IFA 2014. It is one of the most stylish wearable devices with its thinner design. It runs on Android Wear platform and you can use it excessively for an entire day without wearing out its battery. It has OLED screen and you can constantly see the time.
