If you tend to lose things often and want to find them easily, you could now use a smart GPS tracker for this purpose. You can track the items which you consider worthy, like your luggage, a drone which you bought but don’t know how to use it, you could even track your pet or your child if you want. There are many Bluetooth tracking devices in the market but they have limitations. However, trackers which use cellular networks and GPS can fill the gap. HidnSeek is one such GPS tracker which uses the low cost SIGFOX network and a smartphone application to run.
What Does HidnSeek Work?
The position of the object is determined using GPS and it will send out up to 140 geo-localization updates for every 24 hours to the servers using the SIGFOX network. If you want, it can also provide you with 5 minutes exact geo-localization update if you want. With data from GPS tracking, the data is transmitted to the user using the relevant app in their smartphone. The SIGFOX has extensive coverage in Europe and efforts are on to bring the network in other places as well.
The benefit of using the HidnSeek GPS tracker over other Bluetooth trackers is that you can track an object at a much farther distance and without any high cellular fees.
There is a Body Guard feature which can alert you if the device is not moving for a long period of time than what you find normal or it is being moved when you don’t want it to be. You will get the alert in your phone.
There is another feature called the Motion Sensor which can work as a security system and notify you if there is any breach of entry.
With geo-fencing functionality, you can set physical boundaries like schools, office, etc. If your device enters or exits the boundaries, you will be notified.
You will get all the functionalities bundled together in such a tiny device. The tracker is a perfect combination of weight, size, flexibility, operational hours and price.

The makers of the device are running a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The total funding goal is nearly $13,700 USD. The goal has already been achieved with almost three times the target. The project has still 16 days to go. It will end on 11th July, 2015. If you want to get this smart GPS tracker at a lower price than when it will be retailed, you can contribute your funds. Shipping is slated to start in October this year.
What about you? Are you going to contribute to the funding? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
